Akka Hamdan

Akka Hamdan is a Jordanian Palestinian multidisciplinary artist, contemporary folklore dancer, choreographer, and instructor based in Amman. Her practice investigates notions of belonging, collectivity and individuality, heritage, and modernity, grounded in a research-based approach that combines philosophical inquiry with material experimentation. She holds a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts – Multimedia from the University of Jordan, and is currently pursuing contemporary dance studies at the School of Dance at the Amman Institute of Performing Arts. Her ongoing research engages with themes of identity and diaspora, as well as the evolving meaning of place, past and present, forming a journey of questions that may contribute to shaping a futuristic narrative.
